SAFE from relegation, Kendal Town can enjoy themselves and put on a show for the faithful home crowd when they round off their UniBond League Premier Division season against Hednesford Town (Saturday). Kick-off is at 3pm at Town's Planet Conservatories Stadium, Parkside Road.

Meanwhile Northern League Cricket enters its second week of the new season with both Kendal and Netherfield keen to continue to form that brought them comprehensive victories last weekend. Kendal are away at Darwen tomorrow (Saturday) while Netherfield are home to Lancaster. Both matches start at 1pm.

The Westmorland Cricket League starts Saturday and the pick of the first division matches sees two perennially strong sides matched up when Sedgwick entertain Westgate.

Sunday (April 29) is a big day for Kendal Rugby Club's Under-17 Colts. After comfortably winning their division in the Lancashire and Cheshire Colts League the side has now won its way through to the final of the Halbro Junior Colts Cup, where they meet Fleetwood, who have home advantage. Kick-off is at 12.30pm.

Hundreds of runners will be heading for Hawkshead tomorrow, the venue for the start and finish of a 15k trail race. The main event is fully subscribed, but organisers have added a 5k sports trail to give others a chance. Start time is 10am.
