IN THE top three divisions of the Kendal and District League, by coincidence last week, the bottom two teams played each other, which had a significant effect on the relegation struggles.

In Division One, Ambleside A entertained K.A. Hale B, the resulting draw satisfying neither as they remain five points behind the other relegation candidate, Staveley A, who went down 8-2 at Levens A.

The top three teams all won. K.A. Hale A won 7-3 at home to fourth-placed Holme A, Abbot Hall A defeated Netherfield B by the same score and third-placed Netherfield A won 6-4 at home to fifth-placed Windermere A.
