KENDAL Town Football Club complete their pre-season fixtures away at Lancaster City (Saturday, August 11), 3pm kick-off.

Lancaster, managed by former Town assistant manager Barrie Stimpson, were dropped two levels after going into liquidation and will now play below Kendal in the first division of the Unibond Premier League this season.

Town manager Lee Ashcroft is due to announce his final squad soon, ahead of the opening Premier Division fixture against Leek at home on August 18.

CRICKET continues to try to beat the weather and Kendal are at home to Chorley in the 3-D Sports Northern Premier League (Saturday, August 11), while Netherfield, who were knocked off top spot last weekend, travel to Barrow (both matches have 1pm starts).

In the Westmorland League, Milnthorpe A go for cup glory on Sunday (August 12) in the Division 2 Knockout, the Milnthorpe Taxis Trophy. They play Trimpell at Heysham CC in the final (2pm).

THE Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship comes to Brampton, near Carlisle, on Sunday (August 12) with some of the sport's top riders in action.

It is Nostalgia Bike Week, run by the Kendal Classic Club, starting from next Wednesday (August 15) with a Classic Road Bike Run through the Lakes, starting from Kendal Town FC (10am).

There is a trail bike ride next Thursday (August 16) and a re-run of the International Six-Day Trial starts on Friday, August 17, from Hayes Garden World, Ambleside, at 9am, taking in all of the major Lake District passes.
