Windermere Men's hockey team extended their winning run to three games after comfortably beating Liverpool Sefton 4-0 on Saturday.

They are now sixth in North League 2 West.

'Mere quickly demonstrated their superiority and went ahead when Isaac Ravenhill and Harry Jackson linked for Jackson to get to the baseline and beat the goalkeeper for Archie Dalzell to finish.

Neat play by Jake Sorrenson and skipper Will Dolman earned a short corner, which Dolman converted with a drag-flick into the left side of the goal.

A series of short corners for the away side were kept out by some excellent defensive work from Seb Flint and Dan Spires and accomplished saves by Olly McTurk to keep the score 2-0 at half-time.

More 'Mere pressure soon told after the restart. A stunning reverse pass by Ravenhill found Adam Whitehead, who beat the whole of the Sefton defence, leaving several players on the ground, before calmly flicking it over the keeper to score a stunning goal.

Man of the match Whitehead doubled his tally by slapping in from a cross to make it 4-0 and he would have had a hat-trick if he had converted a penalty stroke, but this time his effort went wide.
