HOLME A extend their lead at the top of Kendal and District Bowling League Division One after a crucial 6-4 victory against reigning champions Victoria A.
Victoria won the first two games, Martin Gilpin claiming the best result winning 21-6 against David Grisedale while Jonathan Cooper defeated Stephen Ashburn 21-16.
Holme battled back when Daniel Varcoe saw off Ian Nicholson 21-6 while Matthew Stewart defeated Alan Medcalf 21-3.
Gavin Whitehead edged Holme in front with a 21-14 victory against Keith Atkinson but Victoria battled back after Ira Collier and Alan Gilpin picked up respective victories over Bob Grisedale and Liam Baxter.
However, Tom Baxter’s 21-12 victory against Simeon Noble saw un beaten Holme run out 6-4 winners.
Burton B stay top of Division Two after a hard fought 7-3 victory against Netherfield B, Crosthwaite A and Levens B picked up respective 6-4 victories against Windermere B and Subscription A.
In Division Three, Heversham A and league leaders Victoria C drew 5-5.
