JAMES Harris of Ambleside AC battled to victory in Sunday’s 14-mile Sedbergh Hills Race in 02-22-21.

He was followed by MV40 Karl Gray, of Calder Valley, in 02-25-42 and Ilkley’s Nathan Edmonson in third place in 02-29-11.

The race saw more than 100 runners take on a climb of more than 6,004 feet.

They initially ran to Arant Haw, crossing near to Uldale Head and Hazelgill Knot to the final climb at The Calf before racing back to the finish.

Calder Valley’s Jo Buckley was the first woman to cross the line in 03-03-04 and she was also first FV40 to finish.

She was quickly followed by 52-year-old Nicky Spinks, of the Dark Peak club, with the renowned runner who how resides in Yorkshire and holds various records clocking 03-03-20.

Ambleside’s Steph Jones finished third in 03-11-37.

Spinks' Dark Peak club mate John Hunt was the first MV50 over the line, in 12th place overall, in a time of 02-41-21.
