YOUNG boxing prospect Taylor Finch is following in father Alvin's footsteps after winning two fights in eight days.
Taylor, 17, of Kendal and who boxes for Ambleside and Windermere BC, won his fight in Wigan on Saturday after earlier in the week stopping his first opponent in the second round in a bout in Preston.
He has a couple more local matches lined up in October but will be travelling to Sweden in November to fight in the King of the Ring tournament, a prestigious competition in which boxers from around 20 countries take part.
Father Cllr Alvin Finch, who is Kendal's current mayor and a former professional boxer himself, said he was proud of his son's efforts and looking forward to following his developing career.
