A REFRESHED Kendal Town return to action after a two week lay off when they host Droylsden in a BetVictor League clash on Saturday.

Steve Edmondson's side renew acquaintances with the Manchester based outfit just four weeks after the return fixture at their Butchers Arms home.

That occasion saw the Mintcakes earn a 2-2 draw with the Bloods on a sweltering afternoon, both Town goals coming from loan man Emil Jaaskelainen.

The Blackpool striker is expected to be in the line up again on Saturday, and he kept up his fitness levels with a run out for the reserves in last week's Lancashire Cup clash at Bradford Riasa, scoring Town's late consolation in a 3-1 defeat.

The vagaries of the fixture list then see Town take a three week break from league action.

Edmondson's men travel to BetVictor League South East Division outfit Worksop Town for an FA Trophy preliminary round clash a week on Saturday, October 12, which is followed by another blank weekend on October 19.

Then on October 26, Town will play a first round FA Trophy tie should they overcome Worksop.

If they go out to Worksop they will, barring a late fixture rejig, have to wait until November 2 before returning to competitive action with a league trip to Ossett United.
