IT PROVED to be a very enjoyable evening when South Windermere Sailing Club held its annual dinner and prize giving at the Newby Bridge Hotel.
The club awarded a record 65 trophies to adult and junior members, Jack Thompson leading the way with 12 trophies, while Mark Fearnley won seven and Bob Eastwood, Joe Marsland and junior David Woolgrove each won four.
Special achievements were highlighted with the 'Commodore’s Choice' awards, which saw Wyn Roberts awarded the Haig Trophy for his long-standing assistance and commitment to the club.
Billy Watton won Junior Navigator, Liz Jones won the Determination Award for greatest perseverance while Owen O’Donnell was awarded a Commodore’s award for his commitment and assistance during the season.
