MARK Wilson has offered his thanks to his former clubs Kendal and Penrith for their help in developing his career, which peaked at the Rugby Union World Cup in Japan.
The 30-year-old flanker, a former Kirkbie Kendal School student, made the comments in a special video in which he and England colleagues gave their appreciation to the fans who supported the team as they came so close to glory, only to lose to South Africa in last week's final.
"I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Kendal RUFC and Penrith RUFC," said Wilson.
"I've got loads of great memories of playing there as a youngster.
"Thanks to the guys at Kendal Rugby Club, especially John Nicholson, as I have such great memories of my time there.
"I hold both clubs in very high regard and they formed such a massive part of my youth rugby."
