ALTRINCHAM manager Graham Heathcote accused Kendal manager Lee Ashcroft of making "despicable comments" after the final whistle, but admitted he over-reacted when he had to be restrained by his own players and staff from having a face-off.
On the Robins' paid-for ClubCall service, he said he was tired of being embroiled in controversy, but claimed Ashcroft incited him by telling him that he hoped he got the sack. The Altrincham party left without partaking of the usual hospitality laid on in The Park.
