SIX judo players from the Kendal Dojo took the Bacup Red Belt Rumble competition by storm at the weekend as they all came back with a medal.

Leading the attack into the Lancashire club were Jorja Rogan and Gabriel Barnett who came out top of their group.

Not far behind were Jan Car, Ollie Booth, Tom Dodd and Dougie Goodwin all of whom gave a really good account of themselves in their contests against players from Lancashire, South Yorkshire and Greater Manchester in this their first competition away from Kendal. Having tasted success they are now looking forward to their next tournament.

Judo classes have been cancelled at Kendal Judo Club until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic. A spokesman said: "Thank you to everyone who has responded so positively to our course of action to do all that we can do to ensure that all the players, families and coaches at Kendal Judo stay healthy. Look forward to seeing everyone back on the mat fit and healthy."
