NETHERFIELD managed to break their losing streak against Kendal and get one over on their near neighbour's last weekend.

The match up marked a top comeback for Netherfield who had lost to the Kendal club in their previous encounter.

Praise was given from both teams to their opponents, and both are eagerly heading into their upcoming games this weekend.

Kendal captain Chris Miller said: “It was a great game of cricket. It’s always tough to be on the wrong side of a result, but that’s the way it is sometimes.

“I think we were ten runs short, but all credit to Netherfield who bowled very well and knocked it off with two balls to spare.

“I think Josh Dixon was probably the difference for Netherfield.

"He’s batted for a long time. He provided good stability for them in gaining that win so good on him.

“Unfortunately for us, he had a good game.

“Like last time, we’ve played well but just haven’t been able to make that end product. It’s cost us at least two defeats, so Saturday is where we can put it right.”

Netherfield Captain Ben Barrows added: “It was a good team, and a great confidence booster.

"We had a good win on Friday night which led nicely into it. It was a good weekend.

“Josh batted really well and produced a great innings. He took the pressure out the game and made it easier for the others throughout.

“This was our first win over Kendal this season, and a great comeback from the loss the weekend before.

“I think what we need is just that bit of belief that we showed over the weekend, and morale is really high throughout the club right now. Also, we want to get our younger guys out there more.

“We look forward to our next game against Morecambe. We should do fine. Kendal were good, they took us to the wire.”
