THE WEST Lancashire League has seen another week of intense playoffs and strong performances from its teams.

Milnthorpe Corinthians emerged as the victors during their close match against Hawcoat Park.

The West Lancashire League Division One match ended with a 3-2 win for the Corinthians.

Praise went out for the performances by Danny Keenan, who scored twice, and for Simon Wearing who was also on target with his shot.

The game was entertaining and saw impressive play from both teams.

In the other games in the Division, Kendal County came away with a difficult 0-3 loss against Lostock St Gerards.

The game, held at Parkside Road, saw two out of the three goals come from clinical finishes in a contest.

Kendal were credited for creating their own chances throughout but were unable to get through their opponents’ defence.

Poulton were able to out play CMB and achieved an impressive 5-0 win in their match which was held on the Sunday.

Fulwood Amateurs edged out Tempest United by 4-3 in a hard-fought match.

Blackpool Wren Rovers were victorious in their 2-1 game at Hurst Green.

Thornton Cleveleys defeated Lytham Town 5-1.

Turton saw off Burscough Richmond with a 4-0 result.

They kept the pressure on against Burscough from the beginning and were able to capitalise on the several opportunities they were able to create.

They also went on to claim the win over Vickerstown by 2-1.

Askam United were able to edge out Crooklands Casuals by just a single goal.

Carnforth Rangers played well and overcame Furness Rovers by three goals to zero in West Lancashire League Division Two.

Unfortunately, Division Two also saw the Milnthorpe Corinthian Reserves game at Lostock St Gerards A Team postponed.

Both Kendal County and Milnthorpe are set to have their matches re-scheduled but this is dependent factors affected by the lockdown and current restrictions.

Kendal is to face Wyre Villa while Milnthorpe will play against Eagley.

Carnforth Rangers are also to host Chipping.

Kendal United will take the journey to Walney Island in The West Lancashire League Division Two.

All games are set to kick off at 3pm.

Each team was praised for their performances and the high level of play was a sign of equally impressive games to come.
