Kendal v Morecambe

Kendal got back to winning ways following a crucial 4 wicket win against Morecambe at Shap Road.

Chalana Da Silvas first innings return of 4-23 as well as 3 wickets apiece by Chris Miller and Matthew Park saw Morecambe bowled out for 108.

However, Kendal made a bad start to their reply after crashing onto 1-2, before knocks of 33 by Chalana Da Silva and Edward Price saw The Auld Greys recover, while Oliver Tyson’s contribution of 21 and Terry Huntes undefeated 12 saw Kendal close on 112-6 off 36.5 overs.

Kendal who lost the toss and were put into field made the early breakthrough after Chris Miller saw off Lewis Smith who was caught by Chalana Da Silva.

Luke Pearson and Rongsen Jonathan frustrated Kendal for a period during the first innings before Da Silva trapped Pearson LBW.

Once Pearson departed Kendal ripped through the visitors with Da Silva seeing off both Charlie Swarbrick and Ryan Pearson, while Chris Miller trapped Alex Briggs LBW before bowling Kieran Moffatt.

Matthew Park in the attack picked up the wickets of Reuben Orr and Liam Moffat with Morecambe toiling on 101-8.

Rongsen Jonathan who top scored with 66 for Morecambe was the next to fall after he was trapped LBW by Park who closed on figures of 3-16, before Chalana Da Silva picked up his fourth wicket seeing off Louis Backhouse with Morecambe bowled out for 108.

Kendals batting woes looked set to return during the second innings when Chris Miller was run out by Rongsen Jonathan before Liam Moffat picked up the wicket of Darren Nightingale who was caught by Alex Briggs.

Edward Price and Chalana Da Silva eased Kendal back into control with both scoring 33 runs apiece, before Da Silva was caught by Ryan Pearson off the bowling of Kieran Moffat.

Price and Oliver Tyson edged Kendal closer to victory, and while Tyson and Kuldeep Singh both fell to Rongsen Jonathan, Terry Huntes undefeated 12 off 14 saw Kendal seal the win as they closed on 112-6 off 36.5 overs.

Netherfield v Longridge:

Netherfield crashed to their sixth consecutive league defeat after losing by 100 runs to Longridge at Parkside Road.

The Field ultimately paid the price for a poor second innings batting display after they were bowled out for 109, with Daniel Wilson returning figures of 5-32.

However, Netherfield were left frustrated during the first innings after they had allowed Longridge back into the game from a perilous position on 59-5, before Zac Christies knock of 70 and Rhys Morgan’s undefeated 69 saw the visitors close on an imposing total of 209-6.

Netherfield who lost the toss and were put into field made a good start after Matt Jackson trapped Luke Platt LBW before Shrikant Mundhe claimed the wicket of Joshua Mullin who picked out James Bowman.

And when Samuel Medhurst picked up the wicket of Daniel Wilson who was caught behind by Finlay Richardson Longridge were under increasing pressure on 41-3 off 13 overs.

Shrikant Mundhe finished with a return of 3-52 when he saw off Thomas Turner and Tom Wood who were both caught by Lewis Richardson while Longridge toiled on 59-5.

However, the visitors battled back in dramatic fashion following Zac Christies top scoring knock of 70 and Rhys Morgans undefeated 69 with Longridge taking full control of innings.

Oli Wileman did take the wicket of Christie who was caught by Isaac Medhurst however Longridge closed on an imposing total of 209-6.

In reply, Netherfield made the worst possible start following the dismissal of stand in captain Brad Earl who was caught by Joshua Mullin off the bowling of Matt Greenall.

Josh Dixon and James Bowman began to regain some control of the innings before Bowman was caught by Nick Wilkinson off the bowling of William Vause while Dixon who scored 21 picked out Wilkinson off Daniel Wilsons delivery.

Shrikant Mundhe batted superbly well with the Indian Professional demonstrating his quality after he unleashed some scintillating shots.

However, while Mundhe attempted to get Netherfield back into the game, the wickets continued to fall with Jake Durnell seeing off both Dan Gaunt and Finlay Richardson.

Mundhe eventually departed when he was trapped LBW by Daniel Wilson with the Club professional falling for 45.

Longridge went onto make light work of the lower order, with Daniel Wilson seeing off Lewis Richardson, before Jake Durnell bowled Oli Wileman.

Wilson finished the game off with figures of 5-32 after he bowled both Samuel Medhurst and Isaac Medhurst with Netherfield all out for 109 off 37.3 overs.

Netherfield now host Garstang on Saturday before travelling to play St Annes on Sunday
