KENDAL Town lost 4-2 at Matlock Town and finished with nine men after full back Neil Murphy and midfielder Michael Cole were sent off in the closing stages.
Osman put Town ahead with a header after almost half an hour when he headed home from Michal Cole's corner.
But Matlock came back to lead 2-1 at half time with goals from Trevor Barraclough, who beat stand-in keeper Ryan Yeoman and then Paul Riley smashed in a blistering shot.
In the second half Carl Osman fired home following a free kick to level the scores, but Matlock went 3-2 up when Barraclough scored his second.
Chances came and went for Town but Murphy was red-carded for a poor challenge and Barraclough's shot was deflected in by Callum Warburton for an own goal.
A goal-line clearance denied substitute Paul Fildes, but the match finished with Cole was shown a straight red and player-manager Lee Ashcroft was also ordered from the dug-out.
The sides meet again on Saturday in Kendal.
