Millions of England fans backed the Three Lions last night (July 15), but it wasn’t to be.
Thomas Tuchel’s team fought to secure their spot in the World Cup final, but Argentina came out on top, beating them 2-1.
While Anthony Gordon scored the first goal of the game for England, it wasn’t enough tonight.
Enzo Fernandez equalised for Argentina in the 85th minute and they quickly made it 2-1, with Lautaro Martinez putting a header past Pickford in the 92nd minute.
When do England play next?
England won’t play in the final, but they will play in the bronze final match (formerly the third-place play-off) on Saturday, July 18.
Since France lost against Spain, who have progressed to the final, England will play them to decide who comes third in the tournament.

Have England ever made it to a World Cup final?
England have only ever made it through to a World Cup final once, and it was at the 1966 tournament - the only World Cup they have won.
That year, England won the World Cup on home soil, beating West Germany 4-2 in the final.
This achievement is recognised on all England's current match shirts, with one gold star placed above the country's badge.
