BARROW AFC manager Adam Murray admits pre-season is always a bit of step into the unknown.
While clubs obviously do their homework before facing opponents during the season, he admits those they face in the build-up to the new campaign can be less well known.
And he told the club’s official YouTube channel it isn’t always possible to stick to the game plan.
He said: “It’s always tricky (pre-season) because you’ve got so many different players playing, and so many different things like messages going in, and then you’ve got an opponent that you are not really sure of what’s going to come in pre-season.
“It becomes a little bit off the cuff at times.
“There are certain things we are looking at seeing, certain things we are looking at with individuals.
“Ultimately, it’s about by the end of pre-season putting the puzzle together of what fits best, and what’s going to win us football matches.”
Barrow are back at home this weekend with Mansfield Town the visitors to Holker Street tomorrow (Kick-Off 3pm).
