NEW signing Thierry Latty-Fairweather says ambition was one of the main reasons for him joining Barrow.
The defender joined The Bluebirds on a free transfer yesterday and a key factor in getting the deal done was the aims of both the club and the manager.
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel, he said: “The fact that the club wants to go again, and go and get promoted again, and the manager’s ambition to go, so I feel like I want to fit in with that and achieve something this season.”
The 23-year-old has come up against manager Adam Murray’s sides in the past, and has also been impressed with what he has had to say during talks.
He added: “I first heard (of Barrow’s interest) around the start of July.
“The conversations with the manager were really good.
“I’ve played against him a few times over the years now and he’s always played really good football, so we’ve had some really good conversations.”
Asked what he feels he can bring to the table, the 6ft 3in defender added: “I think as a full-back he gives a lot of freedom.
“So, it’s like I can chip in going forward and still do my duties as well.
“I’ve played the league, I’ve played quite a few of the teams, so I have a little bit of knowhow, I guess.
“But at the end of the day I still want to gain more experience and get a promotion on my CV.
“I’m quite energetic, I want to get up and down. I want to try to help and create attacks, and then be strong and solid defensively.”
