Another busy set of fixtures in the West Lancashire League saw Carnforth Rangers, Kendal County, Kendal United, and Milnthorpe Corinthians in action.
And with the Saturday and Tuesday fixtures continuing to build up, it’s proving to be a competitive start to the season.
Kendal County continued their debut season in the West Lancashire League Premier Division with two very different results after the Claret and Blues lost 3-0 to an impressive Tempest United on Saturday before battling back from 1-0 down on Tuesday night with three late goals, defeating Cleator Moor Celtic 3-2.
Richard Close's team played arguably one of the strongest teams in the Premier Division at the weekend where Tempest United opened the scoring after 30 minutes through Will Wright-Thompson before James Dean extended the visitors' lead one minute into the second half.
And Tempest rounded off the win after 60 minutes when Jordan Pendlebury scored as Kendal County fell to their first defeat of the season.
On Tuesday night, Cleator Moor Celtic opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time after James Bell scored from the penalty spot.
The visitors were reduced to ten men after one of their players was sent off for an off-the-ball incident while Kendal County capitalised and equalised on 71 minutes after Lewis Casson scored.
Jacob Carway's unstoppable strike on 76 minutes saw Kendal County go 2-1 up before Louis Miller scored Kendal's third with nine minutes remaining while James Bell set up a tense finish after scoring for the visitors on 85 minutes.
In the other games, Milnthorpe Corinthians picked up four points from two games after drawing 2-2 at Eagley on Saturday before defeating Millom 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Finlay Stafford's 90th-minute strike denied Corinthians all three points at the weekend, while on Tuesday night Steve Edmondson's team picked up an important win where Zach Clark opened the scoring after 55 minutes before Dan Hammond doubled the home team’s advantage on 73 minutes.
Millom pulled a goal back with nine minutes remaining with Jordan Williams on target before Milnthorpe saw out the game to pick up the win.
In Division One, Carnforth Rangers lost 3-0 at Fulwood Amateurs Reserves on Saturday before defeating Chipping 2-0 on Tuesday night following second-half goals from Cameron Holmes and Lucas Pinnington.
Kendal United picked up four points from two games, drawing 2-2 at Freckleton on Saturday before defeating Slyne with Hest 7-0 on Tuesday night.
James Pattison’s team opened the scoring on Saturday after Thomas Varey's strike on 34 minutes before James Jemson equalised five minutes later.
However, Frank Hines's strike after 73 minutes saw Kendal regain the lead while Danny Scarlett equalised after 83 as the points were shared.
On Tuesday night, Kendal United were 4-0 up at half-time in their game against Slyne following goals from Oliver Wilkinson, Michael Caulfield as well as Frank Hines's brace.
Hines completed his hat-trick after 62 minutes before Joe Rigby's goal and Steve Brown's strike after 89 minutes saw Kendal United run out convincing winners.
In Reserve Division One, Carnforth Rangers Reserves defeated Fulwood Amateurs A 4-1 where Ricardo Mwale scored twice in the first half before second-half goals by Robert Lawson and Kenzie Fairgreive completed the scoring for the hosts.
