Kendal moved thirteen points clear of relegation following an important eight-wicket win against second-from-bottom St Annes at Shap Road.
The Auld Greys, who were dragged into a relegation battle, eased any potential concerns with a commanding performance.
Louis Backhouse’s first innings return of 5-40 saw Kendal bowl St Annes out for 161 off 44.1 overs before Finlay Richardson's 64 off 33 and Darren Nightingale's undefeated 51 off 60 guided the Auld Greys to victory, who knocked the runs off in 21.2 overs, closing on 165-2.
Kendal, who lost the toss and were put into the field, made early inroads into St Annes' top order after Louis Backhouse dismissed Zain Abbas and Evan Dobson while Matt Jackson saw off Jack Trohear, with Dobson picking out Brad Earl while Trohear was caught by Tom Bentley.
However, Louis Backhouse claimed his third wicket, seeing off Ashton Charles, who picked out Freddie Fallows, leaving St Annes on 39-4.
Kendal continued to dominate with Bentley taking the wickets of Adam Patel and Rory Urquhart, with Patel caught by Brad Earl while Urquhart picked out Darren Nightingale.
Louis Backhouse finished with figures of 5-40 after taking the wickets of Alex Urquhart and Ryam Birkman, while Freddie Fallows trapped Harry Birkman LBW, with Birkman dismissed for 82 off 97.
And Freddie Fallows claimed the final wicket, trapping Callum Birkman LBW, with St Annes bowled out for 161 off 44.1 overs.
Kendal lost Max Winskill early in the second innings after he picked out James Bradley off the bowling of Rory Urquhart.
Darren Nightingale and Finlay Richardson surged Kendal into a commanding position as the Auld Greys moved onto 118, before Finlay, who was captain for the game, fell for an impressive 64 off 33 after he was caught by Jack Trohear off the bowling of Adam Patel.
Kendal surged to victory with Nightingale closing undefeated on 51 off 60, while South African sub-professional Garnett Tarr finished undefeated on 24 off 23, as Kendal closed on 165-2 off 21.2 overs.
Kendal are away to Carlisle on Saturday before playing away to Garstang on Sunday in the 40-over cup semi-final.
