BARROW AFC midfielder Dan Mooney feels he is in a good place having signed a deal to join the club.
The 27-year-old has spent some time in and around the camp before putting pen to paper.
And he told the club’s official website he believes that will stand him in good stead.
He said: “The gaffer (Adam Murray) got me in and they really helped me.
“He let the physios help me with my rehab, and got me back on the pitch.
“I’ve been training a bit now, the last few weeks, so yeah, it’s been really good.
“Now it’s just about getting on the pitch and staying fit.
“It’s been long (his rehabilitation), but I think it’s helped me personally.
“I feel like I’m stronger now, both physically and a bit mentally as well.
“Obviously it’s been a long time out, but it’s taught me a few lessons and hopefully I’ve got through it now and can see the benefits of it.
“The start of pre-season was a lot with the physios just on my own.
“A lot of running and as I’ve been introduced into training it’s good to get on the ball and then getting people tackling you, that’s a good feeling.”
Having trained with the players before signing has been a positive for the attacking midfielder, who has worked with Murray before at Kidderminster Harriers, and also with some of the current squad.
He added: “I know a few of the lads. Obviously, I’ve played against a few that have come in and obviously there was a few lads that were at Kiddie last year.
“So I know a few of the lads, but even the lads that I’ve not known and have come in, they’ve been really good with me, helped me along.
“If I’ve needed any advice, I’ve gone to them. So, they have been a really good group with me.”
Asked what Barrow fans could expect to see from him, he added: “Hopefully, just excitement, quality, especially in the final third, goals, assists, just try and get fans off their feet really, excite them but also work hard.
“The gaffer wants that, aggressive, bit nasty at times but you’ve got to have a bit of that in your game.”
