THE LAST day of Royal Ascot sees the sprinters take centre stage today (Saturday) and KING'S APOSTLE looks to have the ideal profile to land the Workingham Handicap (4.25), a cavalry charge six-frlong sprint which is spectacular to watch.

Willie Haggas's sprinter is down at the foot of the weights and has been kept lightly-raced with this big pot in mind.

He was given a warm-up race at Haydock over the minimum trip when down the field behind Fleeting Spirit, but is better judged on his beating of Lipocco, who ran the smart Balzathar's Gift to a neck last time out.

A 7lb rise for that ultra-smooth victory over a very progressive rival does not seem harsh and he should go well, with Orpsie Boy and Note Bene worth looking at as serious threats.

John Gosden's LUCARNO had Marcarthur well beaten when winning the St Leger and can confirm the form in the Hardwick Stakes (3.05).

He carries a 5lb penalty for that success, but sythed down the opposition on Town Moor and providing the rain does not soften up the ground, he is likely to go well at the main expense of fast-improving Spanish Moon.

WAR ARTIST has been knocking on the door in top sprints and could oblige at double-figure odds in a classy field for the Golden Jubilee Stakes. Sakhee's Secret and Marchant D'Or are obvious threats, but James Eustace's South African import is 5lb better off with Assertive for a neck defeat at York and in race terms that's 15 lengths. He's got to be on the premises.

PLAYERS PLEASE is one of my favourite horses from Mark Johnston's stable and is just the sort to turn up at a big price in the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap.
