Milnthorpe Corinthians 0 - 3 Barnoldswick Town
AFTER the previous week's battling performances this was a game where Corinthians were out-fought in a match from which they needed to take points.
The first half saw chances at both ends with Corinthians' keeper Russell Sharpe having to be at his best to deny not only the opposition, but to save one of his team mate's blushes after a sliced clearance nearly found the net.
Corinthians' best chance fell to Scott Thompson, who was denied first by the keeper then the defender.
Midway through the second-half Barnoldswick scored a goal, which Corinthians believed to be offside.
They then conceded a scrappy goal to go 2-0 down. A possible the turning point in the game came when Kevin Pickering was brought down in the penalty area, but to everyone's amazement, including the opposition, the referee failed to award a penalty.
This disheartened the Milnthorpe side who conceded a third goal soon afterwards.
