PREMIER Division Kirkby Lonsdale played much better than of late for a 1-1 draw with Galgate in Saturday’s Honda Lancaster North Lancashire League programme.

In a fast-flowing encounter Joe Mather bagged Kirkby’s goal, with Steve McMinn replying for the visitors, but Kirkby still need to keep improving to move up the table.

Carnforth Rangers won their fourth game off the reel with a 2-1 victory at Morecambe Royals Royals.

Daniel Syson and Steve Oliver bagged Carnforth’s goals, with a Mark Plevey own goal putting Royals on the sheet.

Ingleton failed to make good early pressure tell against TIC Dynamos and went down 3-0, two goals by Robert Goldsborough and another from Mark Wiggins doing the damage.

Match of the day in the top flight saw Premier leaders Marsh United beat Storeys 2-1 when the top two met, with aforementioned TIC Dynamos taking second spot.

Ingleton Reserves came from behind for a 2-2 draw at Freehold FC in Division 2.

A Jimmmy Watters strike gave Freehold the lead up to half time, but a Robert Barker equaliser spurred on the Dales side and Ben O’Hagan put them ahead.

Ingleton’s bold comeback was thwarted when a Phil Bushell leveller gave Freehold a share of the points.

Arnside had goals from Matthew Smith and James Smith to thanks for a 2-1 win at Halton Rangers Reserves.

A brace of goals from Oliver Crowe put Allithwaite Rangers on the way to a 3-2 win at Slyne-with-Hest Reserves.

David Addison supplied the other Rangers’ goal with Slyne’s efforts from James Crinnion and Michael Denwood.

Shock of the day came when Burton Thistle Reserves beat Division 4 leaders Trimpell Reserves 3-1.

Two brilliant goals from Martin Looker together with a Chris Plevey strike saw off the previously unbeaten top side as the fast-raising Burton lads played their best football of the season so far.
