ALASDAIR Prickett received the Chairmans Trophy at the British Show Pony Society 1B awards presentation held at Burneside Cricket Club, writes Malcolm Bewsher.
Alasdair had a tremendous year with his 13hands working hunter pony My Man Dan, including competing at this year’s Royal International.
Chairman’s awards also went to Michael Park, Glen Allen, Victoria Brooks, Emily Myerscough and Mark Davidson.
Alasdair won the mixed height novice section among other Area 1B awards presented on the night.
Glen Allen, from Kendal, won the novice nursery stakes and the 128cm open show pony and the ridden mountain & moorland with Stoak Song.
Appleby’s Elizabeth Butterworth took the intermediate championship with Adiva and also scored a double success and was reserve champion in the mountain and moorland with Skyline Rangers, while young sister Sally, now at Newcastle University, took the working hunter championship with The Wee Man.
William Heginbotham from Barrows Green scored a double win with Meynell Midnight View and was also reserve international champion.
Victoria Brooks from Holme took the novice show pony with Mornington Cairn Hirvan.
Cartmel’s Sophie Barker, scored a double lead rein win and reserve mini mountain & moorland champion with Islyn Madras.
