CUMBERLANDare 123 runs ahead of Suffolk at the start of the final day of their opening Minor Counties Championship match at Netherfield's Parkside road ground.

Play was due to start at 10.30am today with Ashley Metcalfe, the former Yorkshire and England batsmen on 19 not out and Robert Mason on 8 not out.

Cumberland were 89-3 when they came off for bad light on Tuesday evening.

Suffolk had been dismissed in their first innings for 290 with skipper Phil Cayley making 96 and opener Nick Lee 60.

Ex-Durham bowler Ian Hunter took 4-81 on his Cumberland debut and D. Rooney 4-93.

Cumberland will hope to build a total and then bowl out Suffolk.

A minimum off 85 overs and a maximum of 105 overs can be bowled today.
