THE Barbon Speed Hillclimb for motor cars takes place at Barbon Manor, near Kirkby Lonsdale, on Saturday. The Barbon event is part of the Nicholson McLaren MSA British Hillclimb Championship and attracts a top-class field. Practice starts at 10am with timed runs beginning at 2pm. Barbon is off the A683, three miles from the A65 at Devil's Bridge.
Kendal Cricket Club have a double home bill this weekend, starting with the visit of Blackpool in the Northern Premier League on Saturday at 1pm. On Sunday they are hosts to Southport Trinity in the Thwaites Lancashire Cup (provisional 1.30pm start to be confirmed).
Netherfield CC travel to St Annes in the league on Saturday.
