Sporting stars, present and future, are to be lauded at the Cumbria Sports Awards presentation dinner at the Low Wood Hotel on the banks of Windermere Friday night.
The climax of the evening will be the announcement of this year's Sports Personality of the Year Award, won 12 months ago by Kendal's James Ellison, who has consolidated his reputation as an international class motorcycle racer on the MotoGP circuit.
