A look ahead to the weekend:
Hello, here is a look ahead to all the weekend’s action in The Westmorland League: Last weekend saw some teams pulling away at the top and others continuing there bad run of form. Apparently there’s a new kick off time of 2.30pm for league games and 2pm for cup games now, according to the website.
Division 1:
There’s only 3 matches on in this division at the weekend as a few teams are on County cup duty:
However this gives Ambleside Utd the opportunity to close the gap on the top 2 when they host Ibis. It’s an important game for Ambleside as they need to keep winning their games in hand over the rest if they are to catch Kendal County and Appleby. Ibis on the other hand just need a result of some kind, they are yet to win a league game and a win at Ambleside would be just the boost they need for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile Burneside host Sedbergh, both teams are close to each other in the league and a win would give each team breathing space down at the bottom.
And in the other match Windermere S.C are home to Greystoke.
Division 2:
In this division Kirkoswald have a chance to extend there lead at the top when they are away to Kendal County’s reserve team.
Meanwhile in other matches Penrith Rangers will have a chance to close the gap on the leaders when they are away to Dent.
I will be going to The Kendal Celtic vs Keswick reserves match, which kicks off at 2.30pm. Of course its dependant on the weather, but if it does go ahead look out for photos from that game.
Other matches:
Sedbergh Wanderers res vs Wetheriggs Utd reserves
Division 3:
There aren’t many games going on at all in this division, however Kendal Utd have a chance to close the gap on the leaders Ambleside reserves when they play Ullswater Utd away. Other matches include:
Wetheriggs Utd A vs Burneside res
Appleby res vs Shap res
Division 4:
Only 2 matches on in this division at the weekend, Langwathaby Utd have a chance to go within a point of Kirkby Thore who are in cup duty at the weekend when they play Coniston reserves away.
In the other match Greystokes reserves are home to Dents reserves.
I will keep you up to date in my next blog on Monday on how the games went, look out for photos from The Kendal Celtic vs Keswick reserves match as well (hopefully)
Hope you have a good weekend
Richard
