I apologise for taking a bit longer than normal to do this blog, here is a brief rundown of what is going on in The Westmorland League this weekend.


League matches kick off at 2pm cup matches kick off at 2.30pm

Division 1

The fixtures for the weekend:

Greystoke vs Ambleside UTD: A chance for Ambleside to catch Leaders Kendal County. This match is being played on the French fields in Penrith.

Keswick vs Ibis: Ibis still looking for that elusive 1st win of the season, however they are up against a tough Keswick team who have only played 8 games and lost only 2 this season.

Lunesdale UTD vs Burneside: Lunesdale could go 3rd with a win, Burneside are struggling at the wrong end of the division. On paper a home win but you never know

Windermere S.C vs Sedbergh: A midtable battle with Windermere the favourites in this one.

The league table has Kendal County on top, with Appleby 2nd, however look out for the likes of Ambleside,Wetheriggs United and Keswick.

Division 2:

The fixtures for the weekend:

Ibis res vs Wetheriggs Utd res: A bottom of the table battle, were an Ibis win would take them off the bottom of the league

Kirkoswald vs Shap: The match of the division 1st vs 3rd, Shap have games in hand as well, however Kirkoswald will be favourites in this on

Sedbergh Wanderers vs Staveley Utd: Staveley are 2nd and will be red hot favourites to win this match as Sedbergh are 2nd from bottom

Theres also a Masons and Freemans 1st round cup match taking place between Kendal Celtic and Kendal Countys reserves. The match will be played at Kendal Countys ground just by Netherfield Cricket Club.

The league table has Kirkoswald on top looking comfortable however look out for Shap inparticular, they have games in hand on the leaders.





Division 3:

The Fixtures for the weekend:

Theres only 2 matches on however Ambleside Utd reserves will look to capitalise on that with a home game with Wetheriggs Utds A team. Ambleside are clear at the top so a win will reinforce top spot.

The Other match sees Ullswater Utd at home to Penrith Rangers reserves.


The league table has Ambelside Utds reserves dominating however keep a look out for the chasing pack such as Kendal Utd

Division 4:

Most fixtures are taking place in this division today, here is whos playing:

Braithwaite vs Esthwaite Vale
Burneside A vs Coniston res
Dent res vs Kirby Thore
Staveley Utd res vs Langwathaby utd
Windermere SC A vs Endmoor KGR Res

Kirby Thore have opened a slight gap at the top over the rest, however Langwathaby and Endmoor are still in the hunt. Kendal Celtics reserve side are also in with a shout of winning this division.
