Hello, and welcome back to a new season of my grass roots blog. This time round i will be focusing alot on the Westmorland League but also the football at Junior level. I have been given the task of reporting on one of Ibis's Junior teams, so you will get lots of information about that on here throughout the season. I wanted to focus on one junior side this season, just giving an insight into how they operate and in a way try and promote the team so that more people are aware of Junior Football at that level. You will get match reports from various Ibis Junior matches as well as occasional managerial comments etc throughout the season.

I will do a sub heading every week i do this blog covering Ibis it's worth a read: Ibis Juniors Update Ibis have played 1 pre season friendly, losing 14-1 to Wattsfield a few weeks ago. Ibis manager Pete Leonard was very dissapointed with the display stating"After tonight we have to look back and ask our selves a few questions! but overall i am am confident we can pull it around, we had a look tonight at different player who id neva even met before and i looked at players in new positions as well which was a big help.

Since that pre season game other potential warm up matches have been cancelled, however they are due to be playing an Ibis girls team this Friday at 7pm, so i will do a quick update on this game at its conclusion Further news on Ibis in future blogs Westmorland League news: Well the season starts on the 23rd of August, and the highlight game will be Wetheriggs UTD vs Kendal County which kicks off at 2pm.

I am going to be taking photos of Kendal Countys home matches this season (1st and reserve team) as well as photos for the other Westmorland League sides so look out for those on these blogs in the next few weeks etc.

I will fill you in with more grass roots stuff as the season progresses Richard
