Hello, long time no see, 1st of all apologies for not keeping my Grass Roots blog as up to date as i would have liked.
Anyhow here are my latest thoughts on all the grass roots sport going on in Kendal.
Westmorland League I went to my 1st league game of the season last week, I saw Kendal County reserves lose 5-0 at home to Ambleside Utds reserves. Countys reserves did alright without creating much but Ambleside considering they got promoted impressed and i suspect that they will have another good season in this division.
There has been some interesting matches in the past fortnight, Kendal County lost 4-1 at Wetheriggs on the opening day but followed that up with a 1-0 win down at Sedbergh. by all accounts County under their new manager are finding their feet and as the season goes on i suspect that they will be a force again. Countys team is quite young now, alot of players where shipped out and fresher blood has been brought in.
Next up for County is an away game at Lunesdale UTD on Tuesday night!
Followed by a home cup match with Carvetti at the weekend, (the Westmorland FA website says they play them this Sunday but I think its Saturday!) Kendal Celtic Update: Kendal Celtic have got off to a steady start, with a win and a draw from there 1st 2 matches?
I will be posting a match report from Kendal Celtics last match this week.
So overall from the early stages, Wetheriggs seem to be the team to beat in Division 1 and they will take some stopping.
I will be posting photos of Ibis reserves vs Sedbergh Wanderers reserves on here tonight (providing the match is on) My next blog will be on Wednesday Richard
