Hello, first of all i am sorry these blog's haven't been as up to date as they should be!

However i am now back and ready to do regular updates on the grass root's scene in and around Cumbria!

Saturday 27th September 2008: I was busy with Kendal Town, however i did catch some of Kendal Utd's home match with Shap's reserves. it was a Westmorland League encounter and i felt from what i did see that Kendal weren't on form, fair play to Shap though who seemed to cause alot of trouble for Utd.

Shap's reserves eventually ran out 2-1 winner's, but despite Kendal not playing as well as they can they are a talented outfit with a good manager in Richard Axford who has done very well with this side!

What i like about Kendal Utd is that they will stick with the young player's and it's refreshing too see as other Westmorland League side's usually have a few older player's in their side. But the youth policy Utd do have is refreshing and it all goes well for the future of football in Cumbria!

I also went too see a youth match on Sunday, it was a Minor Cup 1st round tie played on Kendal County's ground between Watssfield Utd and Wattsfield Borough. Borough won 12-0 in the 1st half and 7 in the 2nd i think.

Wattsfield are big strong lad's whom play impressive football, the other Wattsfield team (in the blue strip's) weren't playing a full team due to injurys etc, their no 12 had a good game though as he kept being the leader and working hard despite the predicament they were in at the time.

Quick catch up Just a mention to Kendal County, who won 7-0 on Saturday at home to Windermere, it was 0-0 at half time, (Windermere some what collapsed in the 2nd half :)) And Kendal County's reserves need a mention after a 2-0 win down at Windermere's reserve team. Johnny Dixon grabbing the 2nd goal after coming off the bench with 15-20 min's too go.

Kendal Celtic Update: thank you too Celtic manager Dave Noble who sent through the match report from their 6-2 win away at Dent this weekend.

Celtic's goal scorer's from the game were: A hat trick from Baker and goals from Holding.Mitchell and Atkinson ( i will post more indpeth information in my next blog :) Anyhow that's my Westmorland League round up complete, i am going to the Invitation Trophy final on Wednesday night (1/10/2008) when Kendal County play Corinthians at the Lakeland Radio Stadium. (The match kick's off at 7.30pm) Look out for my next blog this Friday :) Richard
