On Saturday i went to watch a bit of Kendal United's home match with Braithwaite in The Benevolant Trophy.
United won 4-1, and for the bit i saw in the 1st half it looked as if United were keen too impress after falling to 2-1 home defeat by Shaps reserves a few weeks ago, The match started quickly for Kendal as they went 1-0 up, then a few minutes later Braithwaite equalised. But United after that sticky point dominated and throughly deserved the victory. Kendal Utd are a good young side with players for the future a future which is bright for this side.
Kendal Sunday League: It was my 1st look of the 2008-2009 Sunday League season the other day. I have to say walking across the Jubilee playing fields to the Axa playing fields was an experience within its self. The pitch is terrible i wish it got sorted soon!
Anyhow with both Sunday League matches kicking off at the same time i saw a bit of both, and they werent too bad. For a Sunday morning the players turned up and put in a promising show.
Theres ony like 4 teams in the Sunday league and no referees which is an interesting scenario one in which I havent seen before.
Anyhow i will be next giving you my views on next weekend's fixtures in The Westmorland League and the cups from this Friday.
Hope you have a good week Richard
