Hello, everybody, it's been a few months since i did a grass roots blog, however I am back and ready to give you my (supposed) knowledge (or lack of) on all things Westmorland League.

Well I have been to a few matches over the past few weeks, and seen some cracking contests and have seen some pretty one sided contests too.

A few weeks ago i saw a quality match between Kendal UTD and Kendal Celtic, the match ended 2-2. but The referee situation was the main talking point of that match, apparently the guy who was meant to be reffing never showed, so both Kendal Utd and Kendal Celtic decided to play the game anyhow but with The Celtic manager Dave Noble as the referee. he did a good job considering the situation etc however the only thing was he couldn't make any tactical changes or decisions, or even subs for his team because of him being the ref etc.

I also saw a pretty one sided match where Kendal County thrashed Sedbergh Wanderer's 7-1 at the weekend. It was freezing cold, and the match at one stage was played in freezing fog, Too be fair to Sedbergh they made a fist of it in the 1st half only being 2-1 down and did look alright, but in the 2nd half County ran them ragged really, that said County seem to have this habit where when they get in a big lead they take their foot off the gas and they kept letting Sedbergh in for a spell.

County could stil win the divison but really need Wetheriggs etc too slip up 1st.

I am continuosley taking photos of Westmorland League matches which get posted on the Westmorland League website forum, so watch out for more photos as the months progress.

Richard
