Kendal over the past few weeks have been involved in some classic contest's, and you'd think a match against Woodley Sport's wouldn't produce as much excitement as has been seen in previous week's. However that theory was proved wrong on Saturday as Town progressed to the next round of the Unibond Challenge Cup in very dramatic circumstances.

It was seemingly pretty straight forward for Town and holding the lead like they did from the 3rd minute onward's you'd have thought may have just been enough. However Woodley then scored with like 3 minutes remaining, but still Kendal like they did at Cammell Laird, struck in injury time, now i am thinking game over, however last kick of the match Woodley Sport's score again. So 2-2 and now the game has to be won on the day, so they go into extra time. Fortunately for Town they did manage to grab a winner in the 1st period of extra time through George Melling and from that point on they held on for a 3-2 win.

It's fair to say Town at the moment aren't doing things easily , but the 1 thing that remains with them is that they will always create chance's, they just need to tighten up at the back which i am sure they will do as they have been rock solid defensively up until this last month.

Saturday also saw the debuts of Dan Wordsworth (who was with us on loan) who has now signed permanently i think since being released by Carlisle. And Jordan Connarton a centre forward from Myerscough, who also lives in Lancaster.

The team are looking strong as they go into 2009, the last month has been a bit topsy turvy too say the least, and i think the postponements haven't helped the team, especially at home. Until the bad weather hit Kendal were on a good run, and playing really well, that plus suspensions/injuries of course don't help.

It's really a case of keeping going at the moment, the team find themselves in 10th place due to postponements, but the games in hand are stacking up with Town having something like 4 games in hand over alot of the sides above them. If those matches are won Town will be knocking on the door for the top spot in the division.

Next up Prescot away in the league at the weekend, So am sure their will be more drama in that match!
