With the clocks going forward and the nights getting lighter, i have been out and about watching loads of grassroots football.

From The Westmorland League to the youth leagues I have seen a feast of local football, Heres a quick recap of my travels in recent weeks: Kendal County res 2 vs Ibis 3: This was an entertaining encounter,Ibis deserved their win,but county had chances.Their was alot going on, and considering most of them had just finished work and went straight into playing, they still managed to entertain.

Wattsfield year 6 vs Ibis year 6 This was a friday night match, Wattsfield won this youth match 2-0, however it was a good match, If ibis had a finish on them they would have got something from the game. Youth football at its finest, they all gave their all andyou can see alot of potential for the future.

Wattsfield Borough vs Ibis This was a sunday afternoon clash on Kendal Counties pitch, Ibis won 3-0. But this is the 2nd time i have seen Wattsfield play and their main problem is that they cant finish!. If they finished then they would have won that match.

Kendal Utd vs Kendal County Reserves It was a wet Monday night, Utd won 3-1 in an entertaining game where 2 quality goals were scored by Utd. They played each other on the County pitcch a few weeks previous which Utd won 2-1.

I am off too the Benevolant Trophy final between Wetheriggs and Ambleside tonight!,at Parkside Road which should be a good match!
