It has been another exciting season in The Westmorland Football League. The season enters into it's last week and their are still plenty of issues to be decided.

In Division 1 Ambleside Utd and Wetheriggs go toe to toe next Saturday where the winners will win the division. Both played each other in the Senior cup final a month ago which Ambleside won 4-1, but with nothing too choose between the two sides, it should be an exciting and thrilling contest.

Division 2: Kirkoswald and Kendal Celtic are promoted i think!, so congratulations too them. Celtic are also on the look out for a manager after David Noble left, they should mount a challenge next season.

Division 3: Congratulations to Endmoor on gaining promotion, winning 17 from 22 matches and only losing 2 is a good record. it will be interesting toos ee how they get on next season.

Division 4: A thrilling league win for Alston Moor, same number of points as Langwathaby and even lost more matches than langwathaby, however the draws are what did it as the moors' won based on the goal difference and the fact that they only drew 2 compared to Langwatahabys 5.

Youth football: I have enjoyed watching matches at this level, i have seen a wide range of talented young players, alot with a future in the game.

The Wattsfield sides have done well again in their respective leagues, ibis continue to impress and some of The Kendal Utd youth teams despite their struggles show alot of skill and talent which all goes well for the future.

The youth cup finals on Sunday were an enjoyable event, 3 different matches in one afternoon, each with drama, Wattsfield vs Milnthorpe and District the pick of those i think, a fast paced, match with a tense finish. Wattsfield ended up winning 1-0, but overall a good advert for youth football.

I will be back next season, Enjoy the summer Richard
