GSK South Lakeland (aka Glaxo) beat Windermere 1-0 on Sunday at Troutbeck Bridge in the first round of the English Vase.
The game's only goal came at a penalty corner just before half-time when the injector scored at the back post after an initial strike had been partially blocked.
There were other chances for both sides but they went begging and victory eventually went to GSK, who play three divisions above Windermere in the NW Men's Hockey League.
