SCOTLAND'S referees will be on World Cup qualification duty next month after two of the SFA's top whistlers were handed key appointments.
Dougie McDonald will be the man in the middle when Moldova take on Switzerland on March 28. And Craig Thomson will referee Romania's trip to Austria four days later. The draw for the quarter-finals of the Homecoming Scottish Cup will be made after the Forfar v Rangers fifth-round tie at Station Park on Sunday.
SFA president George Peat, John Swinney MSP and ex-Forfar star Ian McPhee will pick the names from the hat for the last eight ties which will be played over the weekend of March 7 and 8.
