The glamour and music of 1920s France comes to Grange this month in a one-night musical event.

The Cabaret des Etoiles takes place on Saturday, July 26 at 7pm, at the Victoria Hall, taking the audience on a tour of la Belle Epoque in Paris and beyond.

Featuring six performers including pianists and singers, the whole evening is hosted by MC Justin Jacobs.

Event organisers Wych Music said: “The elegant Victoria Hall is the perfect setting for Cabaret des Etoiles, which promises to be a delightful bouquet of French music. If a holiday is proving elusive this year, come to la Cabaret.

“We’re proud to present six graduates from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in an enchanting tour of the cabarets of 1920s Paris.”

Singers My Linh Ton, Katerina Piperakis, and Ciara Preston Myakicheff perform songs by some of France’s most illustrious composers, from Saint-Saëns to Édith Piaf, while pianists Catherine Duncan and Pascal Pascaleff offer up classics from Liszt and Chopin.

The programme will feature names from the classical music hall of fame such as Faure and Debussy, while also shining a light on lesser-known composers such as Nadia Boulanger, a conductor and influential teacher, and Cecile Chaminade, who in 1913 won the Legion d’Honneur, a first for a female composer.

Tickets are £12 and available to book online.
