CUMBRIA County Council is seeking planning permission to demolish the Condor Building in Busher Walk, Kendal, to make way for a pay and display car park.
Plans have been submitted to South Lakeland District Council’s plannning committee to remove the unused office block and its neighbouring structures.
If approved, the Condor building would be knocked down using heavy machinery and the subsequent rubble sorted and where possible recycled.
Other buildings described as the ‘B&D block and garages’ will be demolished by hand due to their close proximity to the boundary wall of the site.
Cumbria County Council has indicated the pay and display car park proposal will be the subject of a separate planning application.
