HUNDREDS of air cadets marched through Kendal yesterday (Sunday).
The Annual Wing Parade, held in a different town every year, commemorates the formation of the Air Training Corps at the height of the Second World War.
A service of thanksgiving at Kendal Parish Church was followed by the Parade with the Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria taking the salute at the Town Hall.
600 cadets from all over Cumbria and Lancashire marched past with banners flying and band playing.
Also receiving the salute was the High Sheriff of Cumbria, Diana Matthews, mayor of Kendal, Sylvia Emmott, the leaders of Cumbria County Council and South Lakeland District Council and the Station Commander of RAF Spadeadam.
The parade concluded at the Town’s War Memorial with a brief address by the Wing Commander.
