MOUNTAIN rescuers from Kendal and Kirkby Stephen were called to assist a young man with a painful ankle injury on Wandale Hill on the Howgill Fells, on Friday afternoon.
A spokesman for Kendal MRT said: "The casualty's ankle was stabilised, pain relief was administered and he was stretchered a short distance to our Land Rovers.
"He was then transported down to the road where we transferred him to a county ambulance."
