TWO men who became lost in mist on Helvellyn have been rescued by a team from Patterdale.
Mountain rescuers turned out yesterday at around 4.30pm after receiving a call from the 'stricken' pair, who found themselves disorientated close to the Raise ski tow.
A spokesman for Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team explained that the men, from Bishop Auckland, had been out walking the Helvellyn range when low cloud and mist descended.
Five team members found the men 'cold and wet but otherwise in good spirits'.
They assessed them, gave them extra clothing and escorted them from the fell.
The rescue lasted three hours and in total seven team members were involved.
