Cumbria County Council is due to carry out essential road maintenance work on a busy street in Kendal town centre over two evenings starting on Monday, 16 June.
The works on Lowther Street, between Gulf Road and Kent Street, will be carried out under an urgent road closure and Lowther Street will be closed to traffic (except for access) over two evenings between 7pm and midnight on Monday June 16 and Tuesday, June 17.
During these times, traffic will be diverted through Stricklandgate with temporary traffic controls between Lowther Street and Library Road.
Due to the location of the work on the one-way system within the town centre, the works are being carried out in the evening to minimise disruption, but road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
