STAVELEY is set to rock to the beat of samba as Carnival Weekend kicks off.
Costumes are being produced in workshops for the Brazilian-style procession which leaves Staveley Recreation Ground at 11.50am on July 13.
The event begins on Friday (July 11) with a children’s wearable arts show – a catwalk of costume and choreography featuring young local performers.
Saturday will see a last minute costume workshop followed by the adults’ wearable arts show at Staveley Village Hall, featuring an impressive combination of art, choreography, lights and music.
