A DESIGN & Technology student from Sedbergh School has won a prestigious national award.
Charlie Smith topped the 17-19 year-old category in the Manufacturing Technology Association’s Technology, Design and Innovation Challenge 2014.
His design was for a solar water heating stove for outdoor expeditions.
The challenge helps teachers and lecturers promote the work of their students and to celebrate the creativity and innovation taking place in Britain’s schools and colleges.
Charlie said: “I put a lot of work into the project and it’s great to have that recognised and feel rewarded.”
