PATERSON My wife, Anice, died recently after over a year's illness. I would like to give thanks for, and pay tribute to the wonderful care she received from a number of people during that time; District Nurses, especially Clare and Jill, from the Captain French Surgery, Macmillan Nurse Jenny, Diabetes Nurse Carolyn, staff at Carewatch, especially Barbara, staff at St. John's Hospice, paramedic teams who were needed on several occasions, and staff at Westmorland General Hospital, especially the chemotherapy and blood transfusions units. All of them are consummate professionals who represent the best in our society, and are a wonderful testament to the NHS. Long may they continue their work on behalf of us all.
